For new users

Microsoft 365 is your cloud-powered productivity platform that includes apps like Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and much more.

For existing accounts

• To use your existing account, your Microsoft Admin needs to accept a Reseller Relationship request to link the cloud environment with AppDirect. Please read this guide on how to transfer your existing account to AppDirect. 
• In addition to the Reseller Relationship request, AppDirect requires admin permissions for Microsoft subscription management and technical support. 

Overview of Microsoft Service Components

AppDirect integrates with Microsoft 365 for consolidated provisioning and billing. Here are the key components of the service hierarchy:

Tenant Domain

Your Microsoft tenant is the set of services assigned to your organization associated with your public DNS domain name. As a Company Admin, you will see your tenant domains listed in the Manage Apps details for each Microsoft subscription.

Subscription

A subscription is an agreement with AppDirect to use one or more Microsoft cloud offerings or services, with charges based on per-user license fees or resource consumption.

Licenses

For Microsoft's SaaS cloud offerings, a license allows a specific user account to use the services of the cloud offering. You are charged a fixed monthly fee as part of your subscription. 

User Accounts

User accounts for all of Microsoft's cloud offerings are first created in the AppDirect Marketplace and then stored in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). 

5 easy steps to activate:

1. Email Invitation with temporary credentials
   Look out for an email from AppDirect Marketplace with temporary Microsoft credentials. Once you’ve updated your password, you can assign admin permissions to other people in your organization.

2. Accessing Microsoft Admin Center
   Access your Microsoft 365 admin center to complete tasks like adding a domain, managing email settings, and installing Microsoft 365 apps on your device.
   

3. Assigning Licenses
   As a Company Admin, you can assign licenses to individual users via the AppDirect Marketplace. Get started with these videos on how to Assign Application Licenses and Manage Apps and Subscriptions.

4. Microsoft Security and GDAP
   Microsoft strongly recommends that you create two separate, dedicated Global Admin accounts for enhanced security and administrative transparency. To learn more about Microsoft GDAP, read the following Help Centre article.
